This versatile vessel is hand carved in European walnut sourced from the French Périgord forest, east of Bordeaux. The walnut trees are cut into planks and stored outdoors to dry for several years. The wood is taken from as close to the heart of the tree as possible as this is where the most beautiful grain and figure can be found. A clear food-safe oil is applied to enhance the natural beauty of the wood, then left to dry before waxing.
