This versatile vessel is hand-carved out of oakwood sourced from the French forests. The oak is cut into planks and stored outdoors to dry for several years before being worked. Once the vessel is shaped, it is burnt following the ancestral Japanese technique of Shou-Sugi-Ban or Yakisugi. The treatment makes the wood resistant and durable, it also enhances the natural texture and beauty of the wood.
